Substance Composition

Wicking substances and metal wire are commonly used to build vape coils. The e-liquid is absorbed and distributed to the coil by organic cotton or other wicking materials, while the wire—typically composed of kanthal, stainless steel, or nichrome—provides the heating element.

While dual and triple coils give greater surface area and vapor production, single coils are simple and effective. Because of their distinctive mesh shape, mesh coils distribute heat evenly and quickly, improving flavor and facilitating smoother draws.
